The few younger ones I will fish the surf hoping to get them on some perch with a gulp.

The teens I want to catch some sharks if we catch bsb's we will have fresh bait.

Thinking about taking the kayaks, miniX and tandem. We have fished the MDR, Big Bear, and Little Harbor on Catalina- easy beach launch. I have not got all my Kayak gear beach launch updated- bait tank, radio, Fish finder ect. Suddenly I will be bringing a lot of gear, not knowledgeable enough whether "the reported" launch sites are feasible or reasonable for a few "novice" twenty year olds. Some will not want fish yaks but paddle around.

Any tips? Suggestions? Willing to drive.

PM if you don't want it public. I previously searched for posts before this one.

Hopefully my second thread will be a fish report.

TIA

Check out my reply in this thread:

He was talking about the DoD area by SanO Surf Beach. I thought he was talking about SanO State beach camping so my reply is better for you than him.

Anyway bring wheels. Be ready for some swell. If you want calm launch go back N 5 or so miles and launch in Dana Harbor, Baby Beach way in the back.

Surf fishing should be good off SanO, though.
