Ok so I know quite a few launch points. I was interested in hearing about any beach launches besides la jolla in southern ca. Any info would be appreciated.

Dogpatch up in San O is a good one. Also, I sometimes launch from tourmaline beach in PB. There are some other secret launches around la jolla, but you're going to need to swear a blood oath before they are revealed...
Tell us yours and we'll tell you ours.

I don't know about secret spots but if you can carry, drag, or wheel your kayak to the water then its a launch in my opinion. Do some recon on googlemaps satellite and in person to find spot close to where you want to fish. Know your surf launch skills and how your kayak handles in the surf, check the surf forecast, pack light and go for it. My point is to be creative and take advantage of the unique capabilities of a kayak. Lots of rarely used spots are rarely used for a reason; big waves, grumpy ass surfers, tyrannical life guards, clueless beach goers, no parking, ect. But using them is fun, gives you a since of discovery, and puts you in position to fish with out crowds. So many spots are out there. Good luck and don't share your finds. Mike

Thanks Mike, I totally agree I love finding new spots. Catching a nice fish with no one around to see it is a great thing to me.
