Is there really a difference between the several kinds of Goop or is it the same Goop and just another marketing ploy?

There is Marine Goop, Household Goop, Automotive Goop, RV Goop, Lawn and Garden Goop, Sports and Outdoor Goop, Shoe Goop, Amazing Goop, Plumbing Goop and prolly others.

Is there really a difference? I have heard the Marine Goop has UV protection to keep it from yellowing is that why it is a couple bucks more for a tube?

There are 2 varieties of Amazing Goop. One formula contains UV inhibitors, the other does not.

The ones suitable for outdoor use, that contain the UV inhibitors are: RV, Lawn and Garden, Sport & Outdoor, and Marine Goop.

most are the same as stated. just a different color and label so the same product is in 7 different places. more likely to be bought that way. also it takes up a retailer allotment. if they need to fill spaces for Outdoor, RV's, Marine and Garden adhesives and you label the same thing 7 different ways, your product will take up most of the shelf space and when you have one brand with several different adhesives in the same store people are going to think your brand is better than the others.
