When out with a buddy today, we both pretty new at this sport.
Launch at belmont, peddle out to the breakwall. Nice glassy condition in the AM. Long story short, bunch of juvi calicos. Manage to get one 14-15 inches. I released him for next time. Great day to be on the water, wish I was in La Jolla with most of you.

Sweet! I'd like to join you soon. I had to get my YT fix today. Insane action in Long Beach today!

Nice grade of tails!! Can't believe it November.
Need to find a spot for the Reds. They're good for taco.

Newport, just outside the harbor. I think you can get em any where from 140-200 no problem. That's where the canyon starts

That was supposed to be motivation to get out in the horseshoe kelp, 150 for yt. It's never like this for us in (Long Beach) Those of us near long beach can't get yt year round like la jolla.

So keep the douche comments to yourself bro.

Let's get back to the basics. Nice job on the Calicos, and even better releasing the legal for another day. Karma coming your way!

I'm thinking newport or la jolla. I'll let you know kevin. You're not targeting reds in newport?

Thanks, Mike

Cool, I so need to take another trip to la jolla!

I'd like to target reds, but I promised a friend I'd show him the ropes. He's never kayaked before, and he said he'd like to stick to something easy his first time on the water. If he's feeling comfortable, I'll definitely like to get some reds.

Sounds like you have the bass fishing down, but came across this recent article from Bloody Decks that you might like.

Thought you could only use two hooks, that dude has five on the Alabama rig! Fisherman's Access has a bunch of Zman quadzillas for $9.99. I might have to get some.
