When you setup your kayaks do you think ahead that one day you might upgrade to another, better kayak, and set things up so that the buyer following you will appreciate what you have done, or do you say screw it and let them figure out what they want when they buy it from you?
I'm just curious as to what the mindset is.
Personally, I try to set the kayak up so that if I sell it, the person buying it doesn't have to do much to go enjoy it, but that's just me.

I set mine up the way I like it. Both times I have sold kayaks the buyers seemed to like the lay out / set ups. Guess I just got lucky. :D

I go with what seems to make sense to me, where I naturally would reach or look for stuff. I make the mods after a trip or two to make sure it is where I want it.

Why would you set up your kayak the way somebody else wants it set up? What's the point of customizing it, if your not customizing it for your specific needs?
Id say screw it! Let them figure it out.

It's the buyer's responsibility to determine if what they buy suits their needs, especially in a used private buyer situation.

I pretty much agree with you all. We each have different styles of fishing, and like the gear in the places that make each of us comfortable. Someone asked me the other day why I'm always changing things on my kayak or working on my kayak. Easiest answer was, it's easier to do on land than on the water. Once I get the Kayak dialed in to what I like, I'm set for fishing.
Cool to see everyone's answers.
