For those who are not yet aware, I (along with wife and son) are leaving SoCal in a few weeks to move to Portland, OR with my last day at OEX being Monday 12/8.
I wanted to thank all of those here on BWE that made my time here as a kayak angler and also as an OEX employee so much fun. I have seen this community change a lot over the past decade and it always seems to come back around to a solid core group of great folks and I am glad to call many of you my friends. With over 13 years of kayak fishing here in SoCal and 8 years at OEX- there is a lot that I am going to miss without a doubt.
I will of course still be checking in here on BWE and also will be trying to keep a much better blog of fishing adventures in this new area- all of which will go to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kayakcjsiebler (http://www.facebook.com/kayakcjsiebler)).
I hope that if anybody is up that way that you will contact me so that we can get you out for some cold water species from the kayak.
Thanks again to the SoCal Kayak Fishing community for years of enjoyment.

Although I never really got a chance to meet/know you personally, I appreciate all you have done for the members (and Lurkers) on this site. Your endless work on the GB's (either for "us" or linked with others across the country), the Kayak charter trips and suggestions/advice either posted or when I've called directly will be sorely missed. :(
Along with the other members of this site I also wish you nothing but the best, success and happiness for you and your family.
Safe travels during your move.
btw: If you happen to find any rivers suitable for fishing Salmon/Steelhead from a Kayak Please post it or send me a P.M. please. I would like to expand my Kayaking experiences. And give me an excuse to visit one of the most breathtaking areas on the West Coast!
Fair winds and following seas my friend.
Sincerely,
Robert (aka: FFY) :sifone:

Thanks for all the Well Wishes guys- means a lot to us.
Jim- I am sure we will cross paths at ICAST or something again as I am still going to be holding my position managing the Wilderness Systems team out west.
Tony- Of all the customers I am glad ot have helped get started in this sport you certainly at among the top of the list. You have become a role model for others in this community, I am glad I had a part in starting your addiction.
Cabo you better come up man- you know that you always have a place to stay. Maybe we can even get Ed to come on over from Utah for a get together. Not to mention the little extra legal incentive for you guys to come to Oregon now.... :canabis:
Robert- Salmon and Steelhead from the kayak is definitely the name of the game up there. Check NWKA for info on that- lots of guys doing it and I plan to be one of them. Watch for some write ups and articles on fishing this stuff from kayaks as one of my Pro Staff guys and I will be focusing on videos and articles for Wilderness Systems and media outlets.

Bon Voyage!
You sold me my first and only yak, xfactor blem...pointed out the "blem" and said....your getting a discount that's stupid to pass up. Every time I load and unload I get compliments on a pristine white xfactor...the blem is less than three inches.
Solid guy. Wish you and your family the best.

One of the first things you are gonna want to do is get Oregon plates for your vehicles and get rid of those Ca. plates. Have had several run ins while up there. The cops will pull you over for any reason with Ca. plates.

Congrats on your move!
New area, new adventures every day.
Imagine actual forests with wild game in them! Without ten thousand hunters per each square mile.
Your next post just might include a 25+ king!
:D
Portland is a great town. Have fun.

TMan- I will be in SE Portland.
MIke- Yeah I dont need any extra reasons to get pulled over in truck so this is at top of list for sure. My CA registration is only good through Feb anyway and I want a OR License so I can get a CCW anyways.
Matt- You just know me better than all of them apparently. Im sure they think you are a nice guy too but your a bigger ass than I am :p
Pete- Beer is ridiculous up there. I have already found out that one of the Wildy pros has a best friend that owns a top rated brewery with voted best burgers in Portland. I have the feeling I will have to get to know this guy.
To any of those that want to come fish salmon or something- You know how to reach me. I am more than happy to have you up and even if I am not Dialed into the fish yet, Tanner who is a new Wildy Pro for this year knows the waters well and will show us both to some fish guaranteed.
Saturday I along wiht woife and son will be swinging by the weigh in and bbq for the MBF on Mission Bay to say goodbye to those that are there. Wont be fishing but will be nice to see some of you again before the move. I am fairly certain that I will be down for a week in the spring or early summer as well to come fish and visit family.
CJ-- Sounds like a killer move... Best of luck buddy :cheers1:
CJ,
You'll be missed!
Thanks for all you've done over the years.
Send us some Voodoo Doughnuts! :)
All the best!!

CJ, thank you for introducing me to HOW, for your friendship and everything you have done for our community. When you get too cold give me a call and you to could be Baja bound. Best of everything to you and family with your new oppertunity. Tight lines. WE could use 20 -30 lbs of fresh salmon for one of our HOW events next year.
Be happy.

Thanks Adi- It has been a blast.
I actually just found out that one of the Wilderness Systems guys' Daughter is the manager of a Voodoo so I will be hitting that connection up for sure. Another Wildy guy has a best friend that owns a brewery that is credited with best burger in Portland. These connections are adding up fast :p
Bob- I am sure Baja is in the future for us eventually. So much to explore up there though see will see how much I actually miss the fisheries of the south.
