Dana Point-Went out 3 times working with 10 nets last weekend. Each night was the slowest nights ever. averaged seeing 2 short lobster per 40 pulls...

Move to a different spot?
Obviously.
Just like fishing, if they're not there they should be over there and if they're not over there they probably moved back to that other spot.

Dana is so slammed by the commercials since the MLPA closures... every rock they can set on has numerous traps on it.
If it's the Dana break-wall you're talking about...well... that has had a lot of traffic since the start of the season.
As George said, "it's time to look somewhere else". They're probably over there.
Good Luck!

That's interesting, I've experienced the same thing down here in San Diego Bay the last 2 or 3 weekends. My buddy and I have been doing pretty consistently every weekend up until this past week....getting limits or near limits almost every trip and seeing lots of life. But these past few trips have been stinkers and we have tried several different spots and depths all over the bay with very little yield....not even pulling very many shorts, whereas before we would pull 20+ shorts a night. This is my first season lobstering so I'm not sure if this is a typical pattern, but maybe somebody with more experience can help explain a reason for the sudden change? :dontknow:
