When we have store displays that are no longer current we either sell them at a discount or destroy them. Car seats and baby strollers/joggers are always destroyed because of liability issues. We were going to compact a jogger today and asked the manager if I could have the wheels. It was fine with him as long as the frame and seat areas stayed at the store to be crushed. Our maintenance man's tools were locked up, I had to make do with what was available. Vise Grips, a hammer, a very small phillips screwdriver and a crescent wrench.
The front wheel assembly came off easy.

The rear axel took some thought. It was attached to the frame with rivets through the plastic parts. I wanted to keep the axel assembly as one unit. I couldn't drill the rivets out, so I used the Vice Grips to incrementally crush the leg tubing to exposé the rivet head. When the rivet head was exposed enough I clamped on the grips and bent the head off. I tapped the rivet out of the tube with the screwdriver and the hammer. Repeat for leg two and this is what you get. The bend is an exact match for my Trident 15 hull. Some pipe insulation to keep the sliding to a minimum will be next.

The wheels have a release lever. This lets the cart be broken down.

Not a heavy duty cart by any means, but it should work just fine.

And, it was FREE!!!

It has a higher center of gravity but is also wider than my standard cart. It is only about 6 inches higher. The picture makes it look like more. It breaks down and fits in the front hatch. If it doesn't work out I'll make a beach cart for coolers and towels out of these axels.
