Just wondering how many bait cages can I use in one trap? We're nearing the end of the season and I'm going for it but want to stay legit...thanks in advance! Jim :paddleersmilie:

Zero. Unless you are a commercial fisherman with proper permits, it is illegal to use a trap. Hoop nets or if diving, hands only.

Its because of guys like you that MLPA's and all of these b.s. regulations were created.

Where did you see this thing at? We found one once free diving. It was no where as big as that one though.

I built it. I can only load three traps on my PA at a time though. Beaches are heavy. I've got to catch those sewer guys and pass their totals over the next few weeks.

My guess you'll need something more then a Scotty trapeze to pull that thing up. Why use bait cages? Just strap a few tuna or a couple hundred macs with zip ties all over that thing.

That's pretty slick...simular to the cages I use.
Main Beach Laguna has been giving up some big ones recently. :D

What do you mean bait cages? Real men don't need bait.
Here's a picture taken Sunday of me and a couple friends catching lobster in Mission Bay. The rain and wind made it a little choppy but we still ended up with 935 bugs between us (4 of them were even what you might call legal) which isn't bad considering we were only out for 7 hours.
