I don't fish lings often but when I do I like big scampis or single tailed grubs in pink, root beer flake, or white. Proven old school colors. Heavy yoyo style jigs can work well but I like the larger single hooks because it keeps the little rock fish off. You miss some bites but the fish you get are quality. Mike

fish near the bottom, drop and bounce
button down drag(as much as u can considering line weight)
give it some action
hold on

I like xmas tree swimbaits, 5 to 6 inch or bigger
megabait jigs, or similar style
and sometimes diamond jigs

fav spot,
Cambria

have had good days using live bait on dropper loop and Carolina rig
but prefer artificial

Greenback mackerel, bigger is better....heavy dropper loop. Big hook.

Also bounce the heavy lead on the rocks while you drift, makes em angry.
