FF worth servicing?

Hey Guys,

I've been running a Lowrance Mark 5X Pro for about 3 years. This last week the unit started shutting down after 10 to 15 sec. Found some corrosion where the cable plugs into the unit. I hit it with some contact cleaner and applied a dab or dielectric grease, but no dice. Doesn't even turn on now. Worth getting it looked at, or is it upgrade time?

Call lowrance, they will give you options to fix, exchange or upgrade. You probably have to spend some money...but what the hell, beats buyn a brand new unit for full price.

I had similar problem with a 1st Gen HDS5 that was on my boat when I bought it. They fixed the problem and updated the software for free. Turn around time was quick.
