What do you already have in your arsenal? You'd be surprised what some reels can do.

It's nice to have but not needed.. I hat caught 60 pound bluefin on a single speed sx with 65 pound braid. A 2 speed makes it easier and faster to bring in however...

Best reel in avet lineup for what your doing is basic jx2.

your sx raptor was made for fish up to the 100lb range. You do not need anything else. I use a two speed non raptor JX on trips where I am expecting fish up to 100lbs and it has less drag than your raptor

what kind of rod do you have on your jx Cadillyak?

I would say save your money and buy a standard JX two speed. That's more than enough reel, and It can handle big fish as well. If you have to spend a whole lot of money take a look at the shimano Talica. Amazing reel, you hook a large fish on that...you will be impressed. But I wouldn't use that on your kayak, it's too damn nice....I have though... !

I have all of the Avet reels all in raptor, I love them, BUT the Raptors have a lot of drag so fine tuning them can be tricky and its easy to put too much drag on the fish if your not checking them constantly throughout the fight, ESPECIALLY when you have 65% or more line out, because your drag naturally increases due to less leverage on the spool....I say save your money and skip the raptor, unless you really need to stop something really big and mean for most of your fishing trips, tight lines and good luck with your final choice.

You don't need it. You already have a SX Raptor that can do what you need. Admit it. You just want us to tell you it's ok to spend your money. Lol
