Hey guys, going out to fish la jolla this weekend. Called local tackle shops and they said the yellow are up in the water column? Just wondering if yall have any tips or advice, thank you!

Flyline and use surface irons if they are high in the water column......

check the surf:

go on days with smaller swell size (smaller than 2 or 3 ft is usually good on magicseaweed), look for longer periods days (ideally 10+ seconds), look for calm wind (usually up to 2mph in the mornings, around 5,6 mph by 11pm and 10mph-ish by 3pm would not be a bad day).
I check the wind here:

Honest opinion, this weekend may not be GREAT weather. It might be OK. It looks windy out right now, BUT could change... who knows.
