Daiwa Lexa 400 or which reel in left handed??

Looking at a Daiwa Lexa 400 or maybe another reel that is similar and also in left handed. I wish the Trinidad came in left handed but alas they do not.

Heard good and bad about the Revo Toro NACL.

Also good things said about the Okuma Komodo 350.

Which do you like in Lexa 400 sized low profile reels and why?

Which Abu reels did you have trouble with?

NACL 50. And other revo reels. I've had two with the same problem. After a cast, not engaging back from freespool to drive. Would have to smack the side of the reels to get to engage. Had friends with the exact same issues with other models. Coincidence I think not?

Never had one problem with 3 different size Lexas that I own. And fished the Lexas for much longer duration and much harder than the Abu. The Daiwa Luna has also been a great reel to me. Needless to say I will never even consider buying another Abu Garcia.

Have you ever compared the Luna to the Calcutta?

Never been a huge shimmy fan. I feel like you can get just as much for your money with Daiwa reels. I have owned a few toriums which were good to me. However the majority of my reels are Daiwa. My saltists have done better than toriums if that helps.

I own a lexa 300 lefty and also a daiwa tatula lefty. The tatula casts amazing. had issues with corrosion on the tatula but got it serviced so it should be better now.

Although I love my Lexa's, I have had a problem with the reel not engaging when in freespool. I have to manually lift the switch to engage the reel or crank the handle really fast. That happened on my 100, I can feel it happening to the 300 currently. I clean my reels religiously after every outing.

I like my lexa 400, but haven't truly used my okuma citrix 350 for casting yet. The Lexa 400 is much bigger than the 350 size okuma, and feels much more robust than the okuma too. Bigger handle, way bigger star for the drag. I also don't like that the cast control is inside on the okuma. The Lexa dial is external, which is much more easier for adjustments. If you have smaller hands though, the okuma feels more ergonomic.

Ok so the lexa 400 would be a more powerful reel than the okuma komodo in your opinion? Would you say that the komodo is about as strong as the lexa 300?

Ok looking at the specs it appears that the komodo fits between the Lexa 300 and 400 in line capacity.

I don't have the komodo, but the citrix is the same size I believe. They technically have the same drag output, but the heavier duty lexa does give me confidence in wrestling a yt. Haven't caught one on the citrix yet, so I can't give a fair comparison. 15836

Same problem with the Arrid (however its spelled ) Coastal doesn't engage back sometimes.

johnny morris bass pro qualifier which is not made for saltwater gives me no problems....why diawa why?

Check out Avet Reels. They are all available in left hand retrieve, only in silver color though. Great USA made reels, smooth drags. Love em.
