I usually never post reports ever but I've lurked for a while. Learning some good tips from all of you here and adapting to the current conditions during each trip. Hali(big ones anyway) have eluded me for a long time. Just gave up on them for a while I figured "hey, I fish enough I'll drop on top of a big one eventually" well it's about time.

Nice fish. I'm still waiting for the time when dragging a drop loop will turn into a large Hali or WSB. Congrats.

I think it just came down to timing. The conditions were good for a good slow drift. I was just using a sliding rig with a 3 oz. egg sinker and about a six foot leader of 30 lb. Flouro. Bait was the biggest sardine I had in the tank it was about a 14" dine.
