Hi everyone,

We would like to thank you for your past, present, and future support for the Southern California chapter of HEROES ON THE WATER.

In case you haven’t heard, our chapter of HOW is now the largest in the country. This is determined on a number of factors that range from the number of guests we consistently serve at our monthly events to the amount of assets we have acquired. Regardless of how this title is calculated, it would have never been accomplished without our great team of event volunteers.

As you might have heard, or hopefully witnessed for yourself, the way we run our events and promote our chapter has been changing. We now use an online registration process and have an improved way of setting up for our actual events. Promoting HOW has moved from just here on BWE and Facebook to now including radio, television, and print. It is really an exciting time for us.

In order for our chapter to be promoted in the most positive, factual, and consistent way possible we ask that anyone approached by any media outlet, whether at our events or not, to please contact one of our management team members BEFORE speaking on HOW’s behalf. As we have unfortunately found out, it is quite easy for someone to not know basic facts and therefore contradict an important message that we are trying to convey. This is a mistake that we would not like to encounter again so please inform us of any such request.

On the subject of giving information, If by chance you happen to meet a person who has an interest in learning about our organization and you’re unsure of how to answer please feel free to contact us and or get that individual’s information so that we can contact them to answer their question.

A great time to have any of your questions answered is during the post event volunteer meeting immediately following the loading of the HOW trailer and before our more private management team only meeting.

We hope you all understand how the time that you’ve donated has played a part in our growth and success. We also sincerely hope that you get as much joy and happiness as we have from helping those who have so bravely served us.

From the entire management team, thank you again for your much needed help and support.
