Does anyone use their avets or Accurates in the Yak? Haven't seen any in the pics? Is there a reason why or is this just coincidence?

I use my Avets every time with zero issues.

I haven't been here long so it was purely observational.

I use my Avets too
It took me a little awhile to feel confident that I wouldn't loose it over the side
So I would use my cheaper set ups until I felt safe that I wouldn't roll and loose em.

I have used both Avets and accurate and you can't go wrong with either one. Both are excellent reels.

I just prefer my Avets

You can't go wrong with either one

You just will spend less on an Avet than on the equivalent Accurate

I used to use both quite a bit in the past, and both are damn awesome reels. I'd say Accurates are better for horsing fish in and Avets are better as an all purpose reel.

I use Avets primarily, but like the diawa saltist/saltiga high speed LD reels for jigging. Never had an Accurate reel, don't like the fact that they don't post the max drag of the reels on the website, emailed them about that and they never replied.

I just got an okuma metoloid 5s and so far I love it. And I could not love the price point more. I picked it up for 139 plus shipping. If you are military or first responders you can get their high end stuff for wholesale and all other stuff for 30% off

I'm an avet fan. They are well made, simple design, and easy to maintain. There is a couple of videos on youtube that is easy to follow. I tried accurate a couple years ago. The reel clamp screw got dethreaded in the frame. They charged me for a new frame and said I must have used the reel on too big of a rod. lol a calstar 800m. I paid for the frame and sold the reel. Couple months later they came out a recall due to bad cnc. But it was too late. I tried out the jx. loved it and now I have mxj, and an hx. lol lost a couple parts my first time taking reel apart. I called Robert and he mailed it out free of charge. :) sorry guys I hold a grudge for a long time but the good thing is my loyalty runs deeper.
