Hit the spot around 5:30am this morning to glassy, flat surf and lots of baitfish. Got a few large greenies and headed on out. As mentioned by cptredbeard in an earlier post, a few large bait balls were in the mix giving the morning a very "fishy" vibe. Not sure of the depth (no FF for me) but got hit around 8am closer in to the kelp....maybe 200 yards out. Super fun fight on my Cardiff 400 with 20# and back home by 10am, just in time for a work conf call.

Hope to meet up with the North County crew soon. Surf? or fish? As surfisher said....let's do both!

Saw you there this morning! Logged terra but when I got out I saw someone paddling in from the kelp. Congrats! Down to fish anytime.

Awesome score man :notworthy:! Nice session before the surf is up! It looked super glassy this am, I hit it in the evening for no luck, bait was hard to make, did manage some big bones and lots small slime sticks... Water looked super good 1/4 off the kelp.

I love that guys are tearing it up in Carlsbad!
It's a good year to fish in our yard.
I've found that if you can brave to unpredictable Carlsbad surf then you're pretty much good to go anywhere you choose.
Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to seeing you guys out there.

Awesome, great to have you aboard. Surf looks high surf this week so we may pass on getting out there ( at least for me) but hopefully we can all hit it together soon.
