I can't top that take, but the *Tail-Art* is classic. Very cool! I say it deserves the #1 spot on the fireplace. :notworthy: Great work this season!

I tried to do a fish tail art installation in my back yard, but between my cats and the skunks n possums that roam my 'hood it didn't work out too well. Mike

Definitely not done yet.....still trying to find that wahoo. Kayak wars is free if you sign up early, the point system is debatable, but it does make a cool record of your catches.

I've never heard of this. I want to do it for the 2016 season.
Can you sign up for it now for 2016? Or is the 2015 thing the only one going on?

Kayak Wars originated in Texas around 2007, but I don't think it became national until around 2009. The tournament season runs from the middle of Feb until December 14th. This was my first year, signed up in January for $15, but they had an early sign up for free last December. Look to be able to sign up sometime in late December. It will give you a good way to keep track of your catches, and provide some kayak records to try to beat.

I dont really keep count, but I was thinking about all the sharks species I have caught this year...
thresher - broke off on the 5th jump, 5' or so
swell - landed and puked on my buddy, 3'
hammer head - broke off by a few, 6', 8', 9'
smooth - landed a 3'
maco - broke off fast, 5'
soup fin - cut my line at the surface, 6'
leopard - landed a 4' and 5'.
I wanted el dorado, yellow fin, blue fin, yellow tail and white sea bass. Nope...shark fest.

Wow, What an interesting place to kayak fish -- less than a mile peddle to the island, and 4 miles to a very fishy looking bank. Did you fish the bank ? or did you stick to the island and coastwise fishing ? I am surprised that you did not have any black sea bass bycatches, regardless, impressive totals...alot of fun catching all that fish !

Probably 90 percent of my fishing has been around Isla San Roque although for the past month, Isla Asuncion has been a bit more productive. I am also surprised that I haven't run into a BSB. I had planned on harvesting one while I was here because I can, but so far I haven't enticed one.

Isla San Roque looks like a safer destination(less exposed than Asuncion). Maybe when the weather is good you can make a trip 3 miles SW off Pt De San Roque to the high spot. There or the bank 3' SE of Isla Asuncion are bound to hold BSB, plus the troll to get to either of those spots could produce tuna or other pelagics. Leave a small barracuda or whitefish on the bottom while you work your other rods(probably too many yellowtail around to give a BSB a chance to eat your mackeral). Would be tempting to do a drift from Isla Asuncion to Pt. San De Rogue or vice versa depending on the current direction. Surprised there are no grouper in your tally. The whole area looks very fishy -- What a fun place to kayak fish.
