Mirage Drive Differences

When did they change the mirage drives and what makes them different? I'm not talking about the new drive though.......

Pre-2015

And can they be updated to the latest pre-2015 version?

Original is V1, in 2009 V2 was made. Big differences instead of a set screw the fin masts are threaded, idler cable on v2 has a nut on each end, V1 had brass cap on one end and nut on other end. Drum was redesigned on V2. Hobie recently discontinued replacement parts for V1, so came up with a V2 upgrade kit for $120

My 2008 V1 clamped in better.
My 2014 V2 keeps popping out of the snap bracket
