I am getting my malibu extreme ready for the upcoming season and wondering where you guys place your rods for trolling the macks and other baits. I have the rod holders that are ride behind where I would sit but it would have my rod up pretty high. I am just wondering if I should install a new rod holder or is what I have ok. Also if possible could you guys post some picks of they way you have your rod holders set up so I could get some ideas.
Thank You,
McCall Penn

Use a gimble mount adapter along with a scotty rod holder to your existing flush mount rod holder in the back. With this set up, you can lower the angle of the trolling rods and have a wider spread as well.

I like two flush mounts behind me for trolling, located where they don't interfere with your paddle stroke. And a 1" RAM ball and articulating tube holder up front for rigging and sometimes trolling.
Here's a pic of my extreme and how I have mounted the rod holders on all 3 of mine!

as you can see I have 2 in back, 2 in front and one in the center console, the one in the center you do have to slightly cut down and modify to make work I find it rather useful especially when you are gaffing and game clipping!!!!
hope this helps

For trolling macs & other large live baits, the flush mounts behind your seat will work fine as is.
