Tuna crab wide open party , you see them floating, kicking everywhere before 10 am.
Managed to get 2 greenback and flyline all morning for nada , even seals are not interested in stealing.
Change to rockfishing, and even that skunk.
Over all , a nice day for exercise, no fish....

+1, same story
Swells were great, weather was good, on the water 6-12:30, 5 spanish + 1 greenback before 7:30, flylined and dropper looped the spanish all day at various depths, no dice.
Still red crab out there, saw at least 10 within dippernet range of my kayak, although I don't know a way to put one on a hook without killing them so using them as bait was out of the question.
Saw one of the fishing boats catching yellows with live squid in the fleet before I left for less crowded water.
Fish finder friend said only big fish he saw were at 50-60ft, take with salt though since he's still new to using FF.

I'm regressing to the old-school habit of posting recent LJ conditions (yesterday) - catch or no catch.
Wind/waves - minimal.
Live squid in LJ? Yes - smallish and hitting hoochie-type sabiki rigs in early light (and after if you can find them).
YT? Yes - occasional nice grade coming through most of the morning and hitting dead and live squid on dropper loop - 80 to 100 ft off hotel.
Red crabs - yep, and lots of them, but a bit inside of where fish were being caught.
Eel grass - a pain.
Personal report - one YT lost (dropper loop, dead squid with stinger) at color after it reversed direction, with slack line wrapping tip of pole. When fish saw the yak it reversed direction with wrapped line snapping pole tip and spectra. Saw it return to the strand of kelp near the yak with new "bling" attached to it's mouth (It was smiling at me when it cruised by). DOH!
