I was thinking of using one of these metals as a mounting plate for my transducer on my new Waverunner. Both metals will corrode more rapidly in saltwater. I ended up using a 1/4 inch thick sheet of Polycarbonate. This has no corrosion issue and it is 250 times stronger than glass. It turned out well and it looks good too. I also mounted my Lowrance Hook 5 on to the glove box lid. This had to be done right the first time since there was no room for error. I used my Dremel and shortened the top screws so it would seat on the glove box. I have the battery in the front storage area in a dry bag.

Transducer mount and fish finder work great. I have been out a couple of times and fishing has been slow. I went to La Jolla last week and it was really slow. Fished bottom in 100 to 120 feet and nothing but little ones.
I was ready to take Monday off and fish but now the weather report is saying 50% chance of thunderstorm also on Tuesday. Looks like Friday will be the day off next week. Fish On!
