HSWRI has been making their winter deliveries of baby White Sea Bass these first two weeks of December.
Fish have already been delivered to Southwest Yacht Club, Channel Islands Harbor and Marina Del Rey. Newport Beach will get their fish on Monday December 12th and King Harbor will receive them on the 17th. Catalina will receive a delivery at some point during the week of the 19th.
These fish will “winter over” at most of the grow-out facilities until they are about 8” long, with their release planned in the early spring of 2017.

The Sea Bass in the Class Room program will be releasing their fish in the next few weeks as scheduled.

Please let me know when help is needed at King Harbor.

Where in Catalina is the grow-pen/s?

Question Jim.

I believe Dana Point also has pens. I've seen them walking around by the sheriff's station.

IS the DP program different than this one?

thanks for the reminder Saba Slayer! I did this program for 2 years a few years back and it was a lot of fun! Easily filled my service hours for school with lots to spare (hint for those of you that have kids that also need them). I'll have to look back into it and see if it's possible for me to volunteer again!

P.S. - Don't waste the food but if you drop some pellet's outside the net you'll see the biggest croakers/bass you've ever seen!!!

The pens at Dana are part of the same ORHEP program but I believe they are not operating at this time...I'll check on it and get more info.
