I was looking at MSW and it looks like the surf is going to be pretty reasonable this weekend. I was wondering if you guys could help me decide which day would be best. I have never launched from the surf here and would love some good tips and/or a fishing buddy to show me the ropes.

Saturday looks easy bro, just close sets but so small won't matter! Wind looks to be rough later in the day, but they said that last weekend and there was hardly any wind all day! Good luck!!

I have the MSW (magic sea weed) surf app. Has pretty good forecast surf/wind information.

Magicseaweed is probably the most popular, but others use NOAA as well for wind.

Weather Underground is my favorite source for wind forecasts...their hourly forecasts are usually pretty right on.

accu weather for weather forecast is my favorite. MSW for surf, as regulars will always tell you the single digit swells are the hardest to get out dry and come in without riding a wave. longer period swells at the launch have great windows of opportunity with obvious lulls going in and coming out.

I use a mixture of WindGuru, Tide Charts and Surfline

surf-forecast.com is an interesting variant that's worth a look. They forecast both wave height and wave energy.

Also, Larry Laumann has a good article posted on his website, larryl.com, explaining how to interpret the models as they pertain to the launch at LJ Shores.

I really like windyty these days.

windyty + 17ft = solid
