Used to have the fisherman on my old kayak and it was pretty nice just felt a little constricted. Anyone have some i sight..... i know safety wise the fisherman is better as far as not having to manually inflate.

I have had and still use a west marine inflatable.

I own the auto inflate which I don't recommend. I was doing a surf launch and ate crap. Swimming after stuff with my life vest in 3 ft of water and POP here comes the air. Grabbing for your stuff fully inflated in the surf zone... priceless.

Fitted same vest with new co canister. I always wonder if it's gonna work when needed. there is a manual inflate feature, but that may be difficult to do in cold water swimming for dear life.

Just go with a traditional PFD, they're not as uncomfortable as they appear. There are so many benefits to wearing a traditional PFD iver an inflatable PFD. Obviously, the first and foremost is the fact that you never have to worry about wether or not it will inflate itself and you can't punch a whole in it. Other benefits include the fact that you have pockets to store things like your marine radio, tackle, wallet, etc, etc.

Skip the cool factor and go for what is safest for you.

Get the NRS Chinook at OEX. best options on pockets and recess back so it does not interfere with the Kayak seat.

+1 NRS Chinook.

I have one going on 3 years already and love it. No issues with the pro angler seat or any other seats that I'v used.
