I launched from SI at day break and started to head for some hali spots I wanted to try. It was a beautiful morning. Not a cloud in the sky or a ripple on the water.http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif The tide was coming in and I was hoping for some bigger fish.

On the way I decided to stop at the spot that produced the nice bass action on Tuesday afternoon last week. I just wanted to make a few casts with the bigger baits and line. Well......the big turdrollers were there again. Cast after cast brought up a big sandie. I'm glad I stepped up the gear a little for these guys as they were good pullers. I kept this up until the tide quit moving and the bite shut down. I'm kinda glad it did as my thumb was starting to pay the price. (Two days later and it still a little magled). Never did get to the hali spots. Oh well. It was a nice morning on the water anyway.

As usual another good stoagie bit the dust http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/smoking33.gif
I was off the water by 10am.

All fish were caught on the 7in jerk shad and my favorite red and white plastic smothered in Uni Butter.

All fish C&Red

Fish Count:

11 Sandbass (big models with the biggest going 20in)
2 calicos (12 &13in.)

What kind of Stoagie? I find they get in the way a little if you are busy, But great otw when you are not. Rocky Patels, Ghurka's...good stuff.

Usually the Padron 4000 maduro. Good cigar that doesn't break the bank....and yes they do get in the way when the fishing is good. Unfortunately..or fortunately..there is a tradition established and the lighting of the cigar is supposed to turn on the bite;)

I've long suspected that may be one of Iceman's secret weapons:)
I may have had the Padron in a sampler, but not that particular one.
I'll have to keep an eye out for "Smoke On The Water"
