anyone know where to get hold of some local live crawdads for a backyard pond? I'm not going to spend $5-10 each at an aquarium store, especially when I want to get 15-20, and chances are most will get eaten by my dogs.

Looking for north OC area

Asian supermarkets will carry them. Plenty in garden grove or Westminster

Yorba Regional park or Craig regional both have crawdads and my son caught a 9lb largemouth at Yorba.

Good luck

Thank you both. Was going to hit an Asian market on the way home and get some, and Craig park is really close to me so may go drop a trap there for a while

Hit the Asian supermarket at Beach and McFadden on the way home. $4.99 a pound and a big tub to choose from. A couple dozen of the liveliest in a range of sizes ran me 4 bucks. They quickly scurried off into the crevices of my rocky pond.

Will see how many I find this weekend after having passed through my dogs

Thanks for the offer. Pond area is not very deep though and they might not last long with local wildlife.
