So Seigler has had some legal name changing hurdles. They were Release, than Truth.

Crazy stopping power Bob. 30# of drag

They look like a quality product, for sure. You can see from the high-res photos that they are a well machined reel.

BUT....12' rod? Of course it can cast a jig 700'...he's launching it with a damn catapult. LOL

Thanks for the update Andy! Stoked to see you guys carrying these high quality reels. I know a few guys that have been using these(Release/Truth, Seigler) for a while and they are very happy with them. Lite, strong and easy to maintain. I've been debating between the SS and SG for a little while now.

We are not currently stocking the fly reels, but can order any and all of the Seigler reels. If there is enough interest in the fly reels we will certainly start having them on hand.

So, if you run straight 120# spectra to a 6xJr and give it 30# of drag when you hookup, will you (a) straighten the hooks, or (b) go straight over the rail?

Or (c) stop him before he reached the reef. Personally I vote for C tight lines

I love their reels, but I am curious as to why they are on their 3rd name change...

Chuck,

My understanding is other companies had similar named companies.................twice. Lawsuits that can be won and still cost you a bunch of money, simpler to change the name.

Got yours yet? Just ordered a SG in blue from OEX Mission Bay. I consider it my REWARD for getting out of this nursing home on Friday. Tight Lines and thank you Brent and Andy for carring these fantastic reels.

i have been eyeing these reels for quite awhile. i try to buy stuff made in 'merica, and i was wondering how these compare to avets. and i was wondering if the mission bay store has any lefties in stock.

I think these have proven to hold up better on the kayak. I just ordered more SGs for Brent and I to split. I did order 1 leftie. Will post up when we get the order in.

thanks for the reply andy. i was leaning towards one of these for my next reel instead of another avet.
