Haven't been out in a while so went very light with one rod and a couple of plastics. Was paddling in the middle of the channel inside the PCH bridge and a whale surfaced right near us. Found out later it is the same wayward juvenile grey that was spotted in Dana.

About 8:30 AM hooked up and Kaya came to assist with the landing:

Yep, that's Kaya's leash on that butt--didn't bring a game clip.

I have a Shiba Inu which looks exactly like yours. It won't go close to the water.
Nice fish too.
The whale seemed to have gone all along the coast. My wife showed me a video of it in a little cove in laguna. There were swimmers a few feet from it but were unaware.
