Heading to carp state beach in two weeks for a camping trip was thinking of hooping and fishing from kayak any suggestions on tactics and locations ?

The perch fishing is pretty good in front of the campgrounds. I usually fish from the parking lot North. Santa Clause Lane is close by and can be good for perch. Lots of places to eat on Linden and stop for a brew at Channel Islands Brewery. Rincon Brewery is up on Carpinteria Blvd. Think there is a Farmers Market on Thursday evening. Nothing like a nice campfire. Never did any kayak fishing but there is a kelp bed within kayaking distance and you might want to look up Carpinteria Reef. Good luck
