So I haven't launched from the coast guard station in Newport before. I am sure that this topic has been discussed before, so I apologize in advance. Where exactly do you launch from? I see the beach to the left of the building, and I also see what looks like a ramp. Do they have any restrictions on where you can launch from?

I was told that you can launch from the pump-out dock but it's easier to maneuver to the beach.
Those are the only options.

You can wheel your kayak between the buildings and down the concrete ramp or through the sand. There may be some workers around so try to be courteous, but they don't care if you're walking by.

JuSt wheel your kayak right down the beach. It’s only about 100 yards or so.

I always wheel down the driveway and the sidewalk to the right of the beach. I do this mainly because I have to empty my bladder one more time before hitting the water (there are bathrooms at the end of the building). I also come off this way and use the shower to rinse my rods and mirage drive.
