Are you sure that’s 29”? That thing looks a lot smaller to me.

Dont be discouraged. Good work getting out and getting lucky. Hard to follow the "big day" halibut post.

I can see how it would look small....
To be fair, nothing about the way the photo was taken does you any favors. Camera’s too far away and the leading lines from the brick path make you and the fish look even smaller. On top of that, not fixing the orientation creates a further emphasis. Ah shit. This isn’t my photography forum, is it?
That anger will prolly put you in an early grave.
Take a breath, bud. Congrats on the fish

Never cool to call some body out on length or weight just totally kills the stoke.
Also can't fire back name calling, so that has been removed with a warning.

I didn’t see unedited version but usally when someone fires back it’s because their guilty. Look at the mouth of the fish, it’s below his shoulder almost at his armpit and then the tail is right at or above crotch. Measure that distance on your body and I get 20-22”. Unless this guy is 8ft tall than that fish is more like 20-22”.

Nice fish and you caught it the hard way w swim bait. I think it is just the right size for a catch to be proud of. Its much easier to catch hali w live bait - maybe some guys are jealous of your skill?

The fish is for sure a solid 29 inches sorry to get lit up so fast but I think it's rude of any one to ruin someone else's post by saying it's a small fish or bad picture I use this site to get my reports and post when I'm successful or if I have info that might help others I had my four year old daughter take that pic looking at it myself i can see that it does make it look short next post I'll take pictures on the measuring board sorry for the outburst until next time tight lines and bent rods

Dude let it go, its cool we know you have a keen eye for measuring peoples catch without being present.
Does it really bother you that much or are you truly jelly homeboy is going to be eating so nice fresh halibut?
Either way man nice catch, especially on a plastic.

It's a legal halibut. Either congratulate the angler or say nothing. No need for negativity. I bet Liveaction13 is wishing he had snapped a photo while the fish was on the hawg trough.
That's a good eating catch ! Congrats for getting it on your kayak with an artificial lure !

That's funny. It's one of the first things I saw. My wife was out of town and I was home alone with my daughter and her friend. They wanted to paint my nails, and I wanted to play video games. So I let them paint my toenails while I played some games. Kept us all busy and happy.....

On the ocean and Internet forums.
In one of these places, the slightest scent of blood can be detected from miles away, bringing forth merciless creatures seeking to rend and devour with sharp teeth.
The other is the ocean ;)
