Hello everyone,
I’m looking to go out of Dana Point for the first time and looking for any tips before I head out. What fish to expect? Rigging? Where to launch and area to fish? I’ve heard a lot about the pipeline is that a good place to go? Thank you in advance!

Consider fishing at the surfline around doheny beach with live bait.
I was out Saturday with hook up baits and caught 3 sand bass and a short halibut. In the 1.5 hours I could carve out.
Good luck.

Do you launch at the boat launch? How far is the paddle out to there?

From boat ramp exit the harbor and head south in front of the life guard tower. About 20 min from ramp to the tower with a steady paddle. Good luck.
