Tommy; a reliable commercial spotter has reported a GWS caught in the nets at Todos Santos. Also GWS's spotted at Abreojos and La Bocana. I have contacts there and will confirm.
I remember the 14foot GWS caught in the nets at Santa Rosalia - that's right in the CORTEZ.
Maybe the number is increasing? Maybe they are just being seen more with better boats, the internet who knows?

It's the distinct lack of tourism due to the border issues. Those sharks are hungry! But thanks for remaining undeterred, ac. Ha.

From the UT 5/15..

"TIJUANA, Mexico – ...economists hailed Tijuana as a place where cheap Mexican labor and U.S. financing could meet, attracting Asian firms eager to set up...violence is scaring away tourists who came for everything from prostitutes and dental work"

Viva cheap labor.:D

I remember seeing a 15-20 ft gws in LA bay when I was a kid, straight out of jaws. I dont think there are more gws, just more sightings, but it does seem to be a good, or bad year for sharks...

The US needs to train GWs to bite and tear through the tuna pens down south. Easy pickins for the shark, a second chance for the tuna and less PBs in LJ for us.
