Cabrillo Beach, San Pedro tips and advice please

Hi All! I planned on taking the yak out of Cabrillo Beach this weekend for a few hours. Can anyone give me any tips or advice? Good spots or fishing techniques that work. Thanks in advance.

I am far from a pro, but advice I was given is to fish the high sides of the drop-offs. also, watch the wind, If you are unfamiliar with Cabrillo make sure you are closer to the launch by 11 am. The winds can kick up and make getting back to the launch brutal
