Anyone know if Newport Harbor is open for fishing? I will launch from a Private Beach so not worried on that, just not sure if Coastguard of Lifeguard will kick me off the water. Thank!

If you are out for exercise and you are social distancing then you will be good.

I called the Harbor Patrol office and was told that all the parking lots are close but there's no problem being in the water.

I wonder if the Coast Guard parking will be open. I plan on launching there tomorrow. If not my back up is to park on the street out front or go over to the Island and park there if anything is available.

Thanks for posting. Im so pisst I cant take boat out so at least I have the kayak to take out. I just didnt want to drive all the way down and find out harbor patrol will kick me off the water. I get that the parking lot at the CC station will be closed but there should be plenty of parking on the street since the sailing club is closed. Please keep us posted for you guys heading out Saturday :reel:

Parked across from the Coast Guard parking lot as it was blocked off. No restrooms either. Wheeled the kayaks to the usual launch at the Baby Beach and had a nice day on the water. Caught some Sandies and a Spot. Will post a pic or two later. Lots of boats coming and going as the 1%ers were having a fun day on the water.

thanks for the info. were you able to wheel it down the sidewalk, or did you have to drag the long way through the sand? I may head down there next week - debating to launch there, or on the peninsula

I always use the sidewalk. They are all open to use.
