Has anyone ever made the paddle out to the ridge due west of mission bay? Looks like 600' of water, long underwater feature that runs parallel to the coast.

I haven’t but I’m interested in what you would hope to find?

North 9 mile bank. Hit it once by kayak with only a good pump to show for it. Plenty of fun days chasing pelagics on the skiff when they're running in close.
There is another ridge about 4-5 miles west of Windansea. From the times I've been it starts to drop off into the abyss from about 400-600 feet. My fathometer isn't too accurate deeper than that. Never deep dropped there but have seen firecracker yellows under the paddies.

Should have been here in 2015... lots of guys got on BFT on the "nearshore" shelves.
Plenty of threads with tons of info from that year.

Thanks for the links! I just spent way more time that I'd like to admit digging through old threads, haha. Would love to see someone get a tuna this year.

Do you know what caused the fish to come in close like that or have any links? Was it water temperature or lack of bait out deep?

The 2014 blob caused it. (north pacific surface temp anomaly)
Could be another one coming...
