I've been lurking on here for years - Finally picked up a 2012 PA 14 with all of the bells and whistles.. I've fished the SD bays via float tubes, my own skiff, and paddle kayaks but always found myself jumping on sport boats for the quick and dirty 3/4 day. With COVID I've become real motivated to invest the time and money to go catch yellowtail and WSB the hard way. I know itll take awhile and have no expectations. I'd love any tips/advice on places to go and things to work on.

Time on the water, confidence in your technique, and good line&knots.
Prepare for success!

X2 for time in the water. This is an amazing sport. Read allot, watch videos and go practice what you learn. More time in the water equals more fish. Even if you don’t catch fish the view is amazing! Congrats and have fun. The PA 14 is amazing. I love mine!

I’m on my second PA and seven years ago I would say, “even if I don’t catch anything, I got a good workout and I went fishing!” I still say that after catching countless yts and 3 wsb. Go out to have a safe and fun day, with bringing home fish being the icing on the cake.
