Know anywhere in the SGV where I can get some Marine Goop? No West Marine close by.

My local tru value hardware carries it. Some Home Depots. It's overpriced at West Marine anyways.

The local home depot or Lowes will have Goop products. I used plumber's Goop (Lowes) and it seems to be the same as Marine Goop. I used the Plumber's Goop for the FF transducer install. It has been 8 months and no problems. @ $5 a tube.

marine goop and plumbers goop are all the same except for the price. Goop from home depot is almost half the price of west marine. The only difference may be the addition of uv inhibitors in the marine goop, but if you're using it in the hull it shouldn't make a difference.

Plumber's Goop seems to be less viscous than Marine Goop. I ran out of Marine Goop in the middle of a project and switched to the Plumber's Goop. The Plumber's Goop didn't work as well on angled surfaces; much of it ran off and formed a puddle. It doesn't work well for exterior applications either. It yellows more quickly than Marine Goop and it peels off easier. The lower viscosity might be helpful for a transducer installation. I usually warm up the Marine Goop to make it less viscous when I mount a transducer.
