My local dealer has a backlog of 300K worth of Hobie merchandise - stuck in Mexico. I wonder how Trump's tariffs will effect the prices? In light of Hobie's ownership change, I wonder if the local Hobie dealer will still be in business in another year? Every Pro Bass brand product I see in the fishing department is cheaper in price and of mediocre quality. I don't see Ass Pro owning Hobie being a good thing. I believe this is the beginning of the end for creative innovation of the brand. I hope I am wrong. Comments?

It looks like manufacturing is moving from Mexico to Lebanon, Missouri, USA. :kayak-surfer:

I'm hoping it will be a good move, can't make any worse. Well, maybe they can, but I hope not.

Right now Hobie has gone downhill in quality and support. Every since they moved manufacturing to Mexico, their supply chain is stuck at the border. It took me seven months to get a drive from them, and my dealer has a backlog of parts he's ordered. It's getting hard to get anything from them.
