Taking the plunge

Newbie here. Looking hard at the Malibu X13 Ultimate pkg offered at OEX (?). Hoping to hear from some OEX guys here. Over the first, big hurdle...the wife is on board with my new venture. Want to take the yak RVing with us as we travel around. Most of time will fish on lakes and streams. Need to know how others have solved the transportation problem(s) with a 30+ foot Class A RV. Strap to back of RV somehow? Use an extension system off the rear hitch? What are RVers with yaks doing in this regard?
Also, I'm located in the Sierra's near Jackson, CA. Anybody up here I can talk to about this hobby?

Not too sure about the RV rigging, it sounds like you will have to improvise/adapt for your specific rig. Theres plenty of OEX staff/ X-13 owners on this site to ask questions about the X-13. Also, you can PM me if you would like help with any questions at all.

I have a 32 foot Southwind class A...
in a pinch I can stick the yak inside if need be...I
I have often thought about rigging the motorhome with some sort of
yak rack, but I really like having an extra vehicle whenever I go somewhere...
if you have a tow vehicle, put it on there...
if no tow vehicle...like me...do what I do...
I just have the wife drive my truck with the yaks and fishing gear in it...
that way...I can cruise around from lake to lake...
drive into Mammoth, etc...
it is nice to have the extra vehicle whilst camping...
same goes for beach camping...you can camp at one spot and fish at several others with an extra vehicle to cruise around...

Why not mount a couple of J-racks on the side of your motor home. Most kayaks will be to long to mount sideways across the back.

I do not know the rules about how wide a vehicle can be and maybe your RV is already at the limit. If you can get away with the extra foot or so, figure out a way to mount these racks so they can be removed when not in use. Slap your yak in the rack and your should be good to go.

I have a friend who straps his to the top
he mounted a bar up there
he takes two kayaks eveywhere he goes
seems like it would be a pain... but he has it wired

Last summer on the east coast I saw an RV towing four yaks in enclosed kayak trailer. It was a sweet setup with lots of extra storage for seats, paddles, PFD's and fishing gear.
