Bait tank help

i want to put a bait tank on a prowler 13. im tired of using the flow troll bucket. will the bait survive if i just use a bucket and Aerator. and i figured id just add a hose for spillway. anybody have any tips on making a cheap and quick bait tank. thanks.

Cheap and quick = bucket and large plastic cup to refresh water. Just drill some holes at the height you want the water level. This will keep Macs going just fine. I've done this before and know it works. It's just a PITA.

Instead of doing this, wait until you have the time and budget to do it right. You can make a good one for less than $125. The one I made is removable and will fit just about any SOT with a tank well. I can post a pic if you would like to see it.

Keep it simple:

Parts:


3.5 gallon bucket
Rule 360 Bilge Pump
3/4" clear tubing (long enough to reach from the bucket just under the water line of your yak.
3/4" connectors (elbow for inside bucket, female to slip from elbow to tubing and pump
6 volt battery stored in dry bag
tie straps


Labor:


Cut center out of bucket lid so no trying to remove lid while on yak.
Drill multiple 1/4" holes in top sides of bucket near scuppers for water drainage.
Drill 3/4 hole near bottom of bucket for water entry and push connectors through attaching hose to bilge pump.


Easy....you can make on in about a half hour once you have the stuff. If you have a crate you use already, just through the whole thing in there and bungy it down.

West Marine has them usually. Not as cheap as online but probably about the same once you pay the shipping.

so the pump is used to constantly pump fresh water into the bucket correct? and just drill holes for water flow. im still alittle hazy on how this works.

Pick up the pump at walmart. They have them and you'll $.

You can pick up the battery box in the pic at walmart too, in the camping section and the pump in the boating section. You can go with a 3.5 to 5 gallon bucket as the tank.
