Anyone going down to at least take a look? I have been trying to peek at the LJ webcam, but its not working for me today. I'll probably do the standard, check and if not lookin good head off to the bay. I need to rack up some more h20 time.:reeling::cheers1:

I'll be heading out there at around nine. I'm going towards Torrey Pines with a big sign the says "GO PHIL" to cheer on Phil Mickleson and get on TV. I'm hoping the blimp that covers the golf tournament will put me on TV. I'm also hoping for a nice size halibut.

Did dinner down there and walked by the launch with the family. Does not look like you will be able to drive on the beach, but the swell did not look bad at all.
Good luck if you hit it.

This afternoon the Lifeguards blocked off the launch at the street because it washed out. It wasn't really bad, but there was a drop from the street to the beach.
No big deal, just unload at the street and drag it.
The swell look ok, and there was some wind, but it was not bad.
-I don't know about tomorrow though.
Good luck if you go, the area just north of the Pier looks ripe.

Do they close that Launch often?

I don't think they close it, just the weather conditions make it tricky. When I showed up at about 5:320ish there was stormy surf and it was going up right to the street where it had taken the sand away. So if you really wanted to go out you just have to drop your boat in at the end of the street an jump in and go for it. I decided to go the other route and head to the bay,SI. Me and my buddy ended up with a couple sandies each. But I just really wanted to test out the new boat. Just a few sprinkles to deal with, all in all a good day on the water.:reeling::cheers1:

You could launch way up the street today, full moon and 20-30 mph onshore wind is pushing the water up to the tar.
Take a look at the webcam.
