While waiting for the May 1st start of rock fishing on the central coast a buddy and I decided to improve our kayak transport. We were getting tired of loading the kayaks onto the ladder racks of the pick-ups so we decided to buid some bunks for his utility trailer, It's amazing the things you will find to occupy yourself when you can't fish from December 1st till May 1st. Now the kayaks should make the long trip from Bakersfield to Cambria in style.

I had the same exact trailer and set up. Used it to launch off La Jolla for about six months. Got sick and tired of spending an hour just to find a parking spot especially during spring break and summer. I bought a set of roof racks and kept it simple. Nice set up though.

We dont have that much of a parking problem up north. I hope it works out fine.

What did you use for a template? The outlines look like a perfect fit. Hmmmm...Maybe I adapt the same idea for my pick up bed??

Nice work!

Not sure what Stupidd did, maybe use a length of solid wire and form it to the hull then transfer to plywood and trace. Sounds like it would work?
