It seems Mayor Mike Gin of Redondo due to letter writing campaign has recomended that the City Council authorize letters to the MLPA, DFG, SC regional stakeholders urging CAREFUL consideration of the economic impacts to the marine protected areas within the South Coast study area.
Write on the economic impact of the MLPA intitiative to the economy in San Diego. Please remain polite, and as a concerned tax payer, not to mention, ask for his help in this matter.
Ask your city council member for help too.... I am sending everyone a letter, just got 40 more stamps yesterday... :D

Grego attended the meeting in Redondo, and had this to say...
The City of Redondo Beach will be sending "strong letters demanding that the economic impacts be analyzed during the MLPA process" They were made well aware of the loss of retail/restaurant sales tax, transient occupancy tax, and gas tax revenues. They were made aware of the potential loss of jobs. They were made aware of the economic impacts that the City of Morro Bay and others suffered up north. They are now totally aware and in agreeance of the direct negative impacts from the potential loss of tourism and recreational sportfishing.
