Met up with Sherm at 0600 Saturday morning. Launched the yaks into a "slight" breeze. By the time we got to our hali hunting grounds the wind was blowing big time. Fish were biting but it was all we could do to keep in one spot. Even when we were trying to take fish off the hook we were being driven into the shore http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif. Said screw it and crossed back over to calmer conditions.

Fish were not active on that side and the wind seemed to be laying down so back over we went to the other side. Of course after we got there the wind picked up again big time http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/hali_nuija.gif. Crossed back over and fished the moored sailboats for a few more spotties.

Called it a day after only 3 1/2 hours. I think I caught about 7 or 8 spotties and a couple sandies. All C&R'ed, caught using swimbaits smothered in Unibutter and Gulp! jerkbaits.

No flatties but at least I got out feeshing for a few hours with my bud. Said hi to Mark (KruzCan) in the morning (thanks for the decal brohttp://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif). How did ya do out there Mark?

1st pic is of 1 feesh I caught on the bottom and 1 tossing a swimbait, the 2nd pic is of Sherm holding a porker spottie from last Sundays trip.

Peace,

Spyder

The wind sucked. Blow like hell then lay down then just blowhttp://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/images/smilies/1041677399.gif The wind combined with the strong tide made fishing difficult at best. Windy enough to make having my stoagie a bitch. I struggled through it however.

I did manage the bass trifecta though. Something to salvage the day. I guess it was better than doing honey-do's at home.

I'm off on a working vaction this weekend bro. See you in a couple weeks.

Fish count:

9 Spotties
2 turdrollers
1 calico

Did Tidelands Sat. Wind was up for me after about 8:30. Before hand, not too bad. Current ripping pretty well, and lined up with the wind for a good drift N-S. Found a great pick on the west channel edge, drifting under the bridge and thorugh the channel down towards NASSCO. Finished with about 20 bass, almost all spots, including 5 or 6 nice models in the 14-16" range. Bass Assassins and Zoom Flukes on the bottom in 30-35 ft were the ticket of the day. Uni-Goop rocks.

We almost went to tidelands that morning because of the wind. Sounds like the South bay has been a little more active than the front bay lately.
