Why does the OEX in Point Loma have a scale and the OEX in La Jolla doesn't? Or did I overlook it? I know the La Jolla store is more geared towards diving but a scale would be super cool and convenient:rolleyes:

This is way more important than "where is a scale to weigh my fish". If we lose out in the MLPA process there won't be any more fish to weigh from the ocean.

Great point! :you_rock: We are all concerned about the MLPA process and support the fight! with my recent scale issues and Larry's scale issues it seemed like a decent question to post....

Tom,
The Kearney Mesa store is a close alternative with a certified scale.. OEX in LJ is not a kayak fishing store and very hectic in the summer season. A scale there would just not work for too many reasons.

Plus our Crew and customer base at La Jolla would rather see the fish alive and swimming than dead and in the shop.
Kearney is pretty close, I suggest taking your fish to Rik for a weight.

If you are also worried about the accuracy of your own scale all you need to do is take a 5lb weight and check it now and then.
