Setting at my desk 55 hours a week with only a quick look at the LJ webcam on my desk top to keep my sanity. And on top of that, reading post after post of Giant WSB and trophy yellows caught and released. I couldn't take it any longer and sent an e-mail to the THE DARKHORSE requesting knowledge.

Josh and I spoke several times on the phone and with in a week we agreed on a date to fish. I simply wanted to learn techniques, areas, knots, bait selection, line choice, and anything else I could extract from his book of knowledge.

What I received was all the above plus a chance at a trophy yellow that I eventually farmed due to over tightening the drag during the fight. I think Josh was more heart broken then I was and we fished from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm trying to get a second shot but it wasn't to be.

Since then I have gone back to LJ the last two weekends applying the techniques and knowledge Josh passed on to me. Sunday I was rewarded with a second chance and this time I did not disappoint the teacher.

Give a man a fish and feed him for the day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for life.....

Thanks Josh - we will fish again soon..

That was a giant Yellowtail, bro, the good news is she's still out there. But, yes, I was heart broken to say the least. That's the real reason I wear those glasses, so you can't see my tears...no I'm not crying it's just hot in these waders . On Sunday I couldn't have been happier to see that beast on your deck, sweet redemption.

And how do I keep getting clients that make big homeguards look like rats ?

6'2" and 240lbs - Guess I have to lose weight or catch a bigger fish. I say we seek bigger game!
