BWE members, this is going to be the anti-fishing members turf, we need to show up. There will be a sea of blue shirts, I suspect, they will drag their teen kids, like they did at the SD meeting. Most of which probably could care less about the MLPA, and are more interested in texting, and their Ipods was my observation.

Please rally!

Let's follow Maggie's lead and wear Green, try and drown them out, we are Conservationists too.

Bump :jig:

RSG meeting in September is their last one we can comment on.

BRTF meeting October 20-22 is the last BRTF meeting. This is where they decide which map they like the best, or they combine maps to make the one they like the best.

December 10th the F&G commission approves a final map of closures. It will most likely be the one the BRTF likes the best.

Only 3 more meetings guys, then this is all over.

I thought having matching shirts made a strong impact at the previous meetings when we all wore black.

Black isn't a good choice for obvious reasons.

Let's all agree on a color to wear to we can visually show our solidarity.

The facists are wearing blue now?

Do we wear red? Green? Firetiger?

We are making a positive difference as kayak fishermen. Lets keep it up.

The only way we have been able to make a difference is by showing up. Why stop now. Only 3 more meetings.

Bump again guys.

It is 2 weeks and a couple days away. Last chance to get those vacation requests in. I hate spending my vacation days attending bs like this, but if I don't do it now, I won't be able to take vacation days to fish local after this year.

We need guys that can speak in a coherent and logical manner, without losing their cool. If not, please cede your time to someone who shares your views and can follow the rules. It is just as important as speaking yourself.

I agree, losing your cool is counterproductive to everyone's efforts. Nothing wrong with speaking with some passion, but be respectful about it.. as most guys were at the last meeting.

Otherwise.. I may need to ride up with someone that day. I live in Mission Valley area/ Allied Gardens, anyone near by going?

tylerdurden

Bump

We can arrange carpools on this thread. If you need a ride post up. Also there should be one on BD.

September 9th and 10th the stakeholders meet to get final maps

October 20-22 the BRTF meets to combine the maps to come up with their favorite.

December 10th the DFG commision makes their FINAL decision and it's all over.

That's it. It's almsot over. Now is the time to be even more involved, not rest on the efforts you and others have already made.

The Power Point Presentations are very effective, I hope to see more of them.
Perhaps from the Spearo Perspective as well.
-Those guys face the same doom as us, but have certain unique needs.

It all comes down to leaving our safe and productive area open and accessible.

You know
reading all the fishing reports from LJ and Alaska (you know who you are)lately is killing me
(first yellow, personal best, double hook ups, multiple fish)
The "voices in my head" are saying go go go
My time will come

But you know what is REALLY killing me
the lack of guys committed to the SEPT. 10th. meeting

We have 21 guys on the list at Baytubers
Deduct a couple from that (Chris and Shaggy...)
and we have a pitiful 18-19 guys???

How many here?

All we have to offer are our
Time, Talents or Treasure
What are you putting up?

Thanks to the guys pushing the meetings.
Thanks to the guys working behind the scenes.
Thanks to the guys donating $.
Thanks to the guys attending who dont post.
Thanks to the guys who will make this their FIRST meeting.

Fug the rest of you:mad:

This meeting is in LA, I know thats a long drive for many of you
Just pretend you live in LA and are making the long drive to a hot bite at LJ:D,

Is that clear enough?

The MLPA process is almost over and it’s not looking good for the fisherman by ANY measure. TO BE CLEAR, if you are a fishermen this IS going to change where you fish and what you catch for the WORSE. This WILL put landings, tackle stores, marinas and charter boats out business. This WILL take jobs from honest, hardworking people who do what they love for a living.

What can you do?

There are two more KEY dates left in this battle. It’s NOT too late. YOU can still make a difference.

We need YOU. YES YOU! Plain and simple we need BODIES to win this battle.

The first event you can attend is your local AWARENESS RALLY. There are currently three of these organized for this Saturday September 5, 2009. PLEASE come out and bring your trailer boat, kayak, etc. with you for a PEACEFULL drive around your local Marinas and Launch Areas. There will be flyers, stickers and banners available to dress your vehicles up for the rally. PLEASE make every effort to attend and GET YOUR BUDDIES involved.

Hi, this is my first post. I have been browsing the forums for sometime now. I don't even have a kayak yet, but I fish every other day in the Dana Point harbor.

Anyway.. Does a blue SMCA spot mean we can still fish in that area? Or..

Thanks.

Wow.. so I guess blue means no fishing as well. When they say Dana Point, I wonder if this would include the harbor too.

I will be there to help fight this.. I guess I will hold off on buying a kayak for now. No point in buying one if I cant even go out and fish in it.

You can bet the MLPA's are going to pass. These rich people who want this to pass have probably never spent anytime fishing or diving and can really care less about the economy or the hobbie.

bump.

Blue does not always mean no fishing. Every blue zone is different. Some allow all take of finfish for recreational anglers.
